Privi Biotechnologies Pvt. Ltd. (PBL) the 100% subsidiary of Privi Organics India Ltd. has been effectively working in the area of biotechnology since 2008. Company has started the research and development laboratory for biotechnology at Kopar Khairane, Navi Mumbai in the year 2009, pursuing a vision of developing eco-friendly technologies for sustainable chemicals. Today, Privi has a fully equipped biotechnology center with skilled and highly qualified operational team of 30 odd scientists from multidisciplinary areas such as biotechnology, microbiology, and organic chemistry engaged in active research in the area of biotechnology. The overall group capabilities covers different research areas in biotechnology including fermentation, enzymology, biotransformation, and chromatography.
PBL has technology collaboration with Institute of Chemical Technology (hereafter will refer as ICT) to facilitate their team with the basic & applied science expertise in the area of biotechnology.
The continuous, effortless and thriving research in the biotechnology had geared up number of different projects ongoing in the facility and had resulted in increased confidence level for scale up. Company has been jointly working on different biotechnology projects with Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Department of Science & Technology (DST), Indo-German Science & Technology center (IGSTC), government of India.
PBL holds a versatile scale up facility capable of handling different areas of biotechnology and execute the projects under study at pilot level, for this we have a separate facility in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, measuring approximate area of 25000 sq. ft. is capable of handling basic operations such as fermentation, biotransformation, and bio catalytic reactions. Also it has caliber of handling critical separations with high end systems such as membrane separation module, short path distillation module, and simulated moving bed chromatography. The facility is capable of handling complete projects including upstream and downstream operations. PBL holds highly caliber and skilled manpower in the areas of microbiology, enzymology, chromatography, and green chemistry. An efficient team of chemical engineers built the in house scale up capability of PBL.
